Stuff we like

As the title suggests, this is a collection of things that we like at MiNGLED, whether it's a blog page, a video or even somewhere we've been. Think of it as a way of seeing what makes us smile. Don't forget to check back every now and again to see what else we've discovered.

Modular Built House

Recently saw a Grand Designs episode where a businessman who owned a steel working company fulfilled his ambition to create a modular house which could be built off-site and assembled in a couple of weeks. He had been working on this project for decades but with his company facing ruin thanks to the recession, he decided to put his ideas into practice and build the prototype. The result was a house which was built in a fraction of the time a conventional house would take and had a unique look. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to save his old company but now he as started Adaptahaus to market and build the house for others. A far sighted individual who has been lucky enough to live his dream.

T-Shirt promo

It's a bit indulgent to like some of our own work but it's our website and we make the rules. We've create a short animated video to show off one of our T-shirts, Sushi Brains and here is a chance to view it. There are plans to make more to promote other designs so keep checking back to see when the latest one will be posted.

The Book Club

Part bar, part grown-up youth club, part student common room, The Book Club is a friendly hangout in Shoreditch, East London. The place has an intellectual vibe to it as there are lectures held downstairs on subjects such as science & politics but this isn't to say the place is stuffy. There eclectic decoration and ping pong table put paid to that. And while you may come for the events, happening almost every evening, you'll stay for the food, both abundant and tasty. So if you're down Shoreditch way, take time to pop in and have a look around.

Tiny Hong Kong apartment transforms into 24 rooms

We found this article on the website Lost In E Minor, a site dedicated to the new, whether is be art, design or in this case, architecture. This is an amazing video showing what can be achived in such incredibly small spaces. It makes living in such a small space look quite cool.

Happy Pills

In Barcelona there is a re-branding of the traditional pick 'n' mix, Happy Pills. By turning the shop into a fantasy pharmacy they have made buying cheap sweets into an experience and customers are happy to pay the extra for it.
